INM plc, listed on the London and Dublin stock exchanges, is the largest print media business in Ireland. Like many traditional media players it faces the perfect storm of challenging circulation numbers combined with a seismic shift of advertising revenue towards digital platforms.
In response to the challenge we assisted the Board and Group Executive team to revise the strategy and translate it into a pragmatic three-year transformation plan, sub-divided into a number of integrated programmes of change to deliver tangible outcomes and improvements.
During the implementation an approach was made to acquire the business which was unanimously recommended for approval by the Board. The business was acquired in July 2019 for a 40 percent premium to the prevailing share price. We were subsequently engaged to assist with the transition of the acquired business into the new owners portfolio of media interests.
